Multiple Locations
Inclusive and accessible communities
Enlighten has a Changing Place!
A dedicated Changing Place accessible bathroom including adult change facilities and a hoist is available on-site for patrons with an MLAK Key. This facility includes:
• shower facilities
• height adjustable adult-sized change table
• ceiling track hoist system
• automatic door with a clear opening.
The Changing Place is accessible using a MLAK Key, and a spare key is available at the First Aid marquee opposite the Changing Places Pod if required. Additional accessible toilets are available on-site for other patrons.
For more information please see https://changingplaces.org.au/
For more information on how to obtain an MLAK Key please see https://masterlocksmiths.com.au/mlak/
MLAK Key holders can also access facilities across the ACT including accessible toilets and Liberty Swings.
The National Toilet Map allows people to search online for accessible public toilets in their area. The location and opening hours are listed for each facility. The search function of the website enables people to find toilets based on specific accessibility requirements, including by:
• MLAK key,
• a preference for a left-hand or right-hand transfer, and/or
• ambulant facilities.
A Liberty Swing is specialised equipment that allows a person to remain seated in their wheelchair, which is secured to the Liberty Swing platform, while swinging. The ACT now has four Liberty Swings, located at Yerrabi Pond, Black Mountain Peninsula, Kambah District Park and Pearce Community Centre.
