If you’re a family member of a person with a disability, especially intellectual disability or autism, you’ll almost certainly have wondered (and worried) about what their life will be like if you’re no longer able to take care of them.

The older you get, the scarier the scenarios that play out in your mind. You might already be asking yourself questions like, “Where will they live?”, “Who will watch out for them?” and “Is there enough money to last their lifetime?”

If these questions and others like them keep you awake at night, then register for this free one-day workshop. From wills to guardianship, estate planning to disability trusts, you’ll hear from local experts who’ll help you plan for your demise with confidence.

This workshop is the brainchild of Karna O’Dea and Sandra Blaik, longtime friends and passionate parents who used to wake up in a cold sweat, wondering what their adult children’s lives would be like when they’re no longer around. So they embarked upon a quest to gather the information they needed to make plans confidently. And knowing that other families would benefit from this information, they turned their personal search for answers into a workshop.

Karna and Sandra have brought together local experts who will provide attendees with high-quality advice about the nuts and bolts of safeguarding. You’ll also hear how other families have planned for their family members’ futures.

You can expect to leave the workshop with your questions answered, lots of ideas, and a much clearer way forward.

This is a free workshop, but you must register to attend.
