Setting up a job for success

This webinar will focus on setting up the workplace to ensure success for a young person with disability. We will cover important steps that help employers and supporters prepare the job environment, choose the right tasks to start with, and provide effective support. This preparation helps the person succeed from the start.

We’ll explore:

Strategies to ensure the right tasks are chosen for the person.
Ideas for preparing the person for work, including role plays, practice, travel training, and getting familiar with the workplace.
How to break down tasks into simple steps to teach the person effectively.
Practical ways to train someone step by step to complete tasks independently.
Supporting the growth of the person’s skills and identifying opportunities for career development.
Communicating with employers to gather valuable feedback on job performance and opportunities for improvement.

This webinar has been designed for families of students in or about to start years 7-12. People with disability who have already finished school and their families may also find it useful, but please note that much of the content will focus on topics relevant to students.
