Finding the right job or work experience opportunities for your child can feel challenging. In this webinar, you will learn how to help your child with disability find customised employment and work experience opportunities. This session will focus on the key aspects of job development—understanding what it is and how to customise job roles that fit your child’s interests and skills.
We’ll explore:
-An overview of job development and what it entails.
- Success stories of how students with disability found their first jobs or work experience opportunities.
- How do you create and present a visual resume with examples of written and video resumes?
- Strategies for engaging with employers and negotiating customised roles.
- Tips on negotiating a job role and work conditions to ensure your child’s success.
This webinar has been designed for families of students in or about to start years 7-12. People with disability who have already finished school and their families may also find it useful, but please note that much of the content will focus on topics relevant to students.
