An Expression of Interest is currently open for the Official Visitor for Homelessness.

The Official Visitor for the purposes of the Housing Assistance Act 2007 plays a vital role in safeguarding and promoting the interests of vulnerable people in operated supported accommodation and independent accommodation and inquiring into complaints.

Official Visitors are responsible for making inquiries and visits as set out in the Official Visitor Act 2012, the relevant operational legislation the Housing Assistance Act 2007, the Official Visitor Guidelines and other supporting material.

The Official Visitor seeks to identify, monitor and resolve issues locally using early intervention and resolution practices.

The Official Visitor reports to the Minister for Homelessness and Housing Services and advises on entitled peoples’ experiences, needs and the standard of the services they receive.
