Rebus Theatre - Finalist for the 2019 Chief Minister's Inclusion Awards

Rebus Theatre is a finalist for the Excellence in Championing Human Rights and Equality award at the 2019 Chief Minister’s Inclusion Awards!

Rebus Theatre is a mixed ability company using theatre for social change. Their core work is to challenge ignorance, stigma, prejudice and structural discrimination against people with disability in workplaces, encouraging fairness in the hiring and maintaining of staff with disability, and improving access to services for people with disability.

The company also runs inclusive drama classes for people with disability.

Rebus employs people with disability at professional rates as actors, drama tutors and managers. They train and mentor individuals with disability to take on leadership roles in the company and the world. They strive to be a model inclusive workplace and provide pathways for actors with disability to progress from a recreational interest to professional employment.

The latest phase of their Access All Areas project delivered experiential inclusion training to staff of justice services, through a compelling and interactive performance featuring actors with disability.
