Community member position on the ACT Judicial Council

Expressions of interest are sought for appointment to the ACT Judicial Council. 

The ACT Judicial Council is established under part 2A of the Judicial Commissions Act 1994 (the Act).

The Council’s primary role is to investigate complaints about ACT judges and magistrates.

The Council consists of four members: the Chief Justice of the ACT Supreme Court, the Chief Magistrate of the ACT Magistrates Court, a representative of the ACT legal profession and a member selected from the community on the basis of their qualifications and experience (‘community member’).

The vacancy for a community member is advertised on the ACT Diversity Register and on Jobs ACT.

Applicants are asked to please apply through the ACT Diversity Register. Applications close on 12 February 2021.

The successful candidate should be available to commence in the role by 1 April 2021.
