Are you or someone you know passionate about supporting young people? Do you have qualifications and expertise in areas like psychology, education, criminology or social work? Are you experienced in working with Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander families?

Applications are now open for the ACT Government’s new Therapeutic Support Panel.
The panel is being formed to support the raising of the minimum age of criminal responsibility in the ACT from 10 years to 12 years (and then 14 years in 2025) this year. The panel will become operational by no later than 27 March 2024.
The role of panel members will be to facilitate therapeutic support for children and young people, instead of going through the criminal justice system.

Available positions include:
• Chair – full time statutory position
• Deputy Chair – minimum 6 hours per month commitment
• 10-12 panel members – minimum 6 hours per month commitment

A minimum of at least 2 positions are identified for Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander people.

If you’re committed to creating better outcomes for Canberra’s young people and have experience or expertise in areas such as education, psychology, disability, criminology, paediatrics, mental health or social work, we want to hear from you.

People with experience working with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children and young people, or culturally and linguistically diverse children and young people are especially encouraged to apply.
