In 2022, David Yeiter (commonly known as Yeiter) published a small book called Lessons in Listening. It contains essential ideas about a relationship-based alternative to supporting people with disabilities and a reputation for difficult behaviours.
Yeiter will join us in October 2022 to deliver an online workshop based on this book.
He will use the 14 lessons of the book to provide a framework for his process of working with families, schools, and support teams who are often struggling to resolve the behavioural issues of an adult or child with a disability.
Workshop details
This workshop will provide a 2-hour overview through lectures, storytelling and videos and will conclude with a 45-minute Q&A session.
This workshop will be recorded. Limited-time access to the recording will only be offered to people who register for this event. We encourage you to attend live to participate in the Q&A session.
This is a free workshop
We are thrilled to be able to offer free registration for this workshop. This event is fully funded by the Australian Government Department of Social Services through an Individual Capacity Building grant. This workshop is part of Imagine More’s Typical Pathway’s Initiative Project.

For 50 years, Yeiter has had a personal commitment to supporting people who live with a status he refers to as “a reputation for challenging behaviour”.
In making a positive difference in people’s lives, Yeiter has taken many roles: ward attendant, behaviour specialist, administrator, consultant, and teacher.
Yeiter is on the verge of retirement, so we are honoured and excited that this will be among his last professional appearances.
