The Accessible & Inclusive Tourism Conference in the Asia-Pacific (AITCAP) is a virtual event running across May. Accessible & inclusive tourism for people with mobility, hearing, vision and other accessibility needs is a huge, fast-growing and underserved market. This conference is a unique opportunity to raise awareness on the importance of accessible & inclusive travel and showcase organisations championing change.
The event will take place over the 4 Thursdays of May 2021. Registration gives you access to both live sessions & recordings, making it an accessible event for everyone.
Each day has a specific theme:
- 6 May - Best Practice in Accessible & Inclusive Tourism
- 13 May - Understanding and Attracting the Accessible & Inclusive tourism market
- 20 May - Accessible & Inclusive Destination Marketing
- 27 May - The Future of Accessible & Inclusive Tourism
To make as accessible as possible, we have made sure that:
- Registration also gives access to recordings, allowing for the content to be watched at any convenient time
- All content will be transcribed and captioned, allowing for all people of all abilities to access it.
- Companies wishing to train their staff get a reduction for bundle tickets
Speakers include:
- John O'Sullivan, Commissioner of Tourism Western Australia with 25+ years of experience in tourism
- Seoyoon Jane Hong founder of Tourism for all Korea, accessible tourism consultant of KTO & former executive director of Seoul Tourism Foundation
- Geoff Trappett OAM, Former Paralympic Athlete, advocates of human rights and disability inclusion related issues through his social policy change venture Inclusion Moves
- Ivor Ambrose, Founding Member and elected Managing Director of the European Network for Accessible Tourism (ENAT), a non-profit, multi-stakeholder association registered in Belgium in 2008.
- John Morris, a thought leader in the field of accessible travel, drawing from his experience of more than one million miles flown as a wheelchair user and triple amputee.
