I-Day is held each year on 3 December to celebrate and acknowledge the contributions, skills and achievement of people with disability.
These celebrations help to raise awareness and understanding of disability issues and encourage support for the dignity, rights and well-being of people with disability.
Some of the I-Day events happening in Canberra include:
Thursday 3 December:
I-Day at National Museum of Australia
Includes special guests Dr Ben Gauntlett, Disability Discrimination Commissioner, vocalist/songwriter Ruth O’Brien and choreographer Liz Lea

Disability Trust – I-Day Celebrations
12:00pm – 4:00pm
Includes games and activities, including Jazzercise, handmade craft, dance performance, football drills, demonstrations plus food and drink stalls. Guests include: Victor the Viking, Circus Warehouse, Belconnen Lions Club, Everyday Champions, Special Olympics, Canberra Quilters and Budding Theatre.
Score Raiders and Score Dragons will also be playing a match on the day.
