Sharing Places - Finalist for the 2019 Chief Minister's Inclusion Awards

Sharing Places is a finalist for the Excellence in Inclusive Services and Disability Support award at the 2019 Chief Minister’s Inclusion Awards!

Sharing Places Inc. is a not-for-profit organisation that helps adults with disability and high and complex needs participate in community, social and civic activities. The organisation also helps them develop daily living and life skills, ranging from cooking and cleaning to work readiness training. It supports around 170 people with disability.

The Communication - A Partnership with Service Users pilot project was funded by the Workforce Impact Collective (WIC). This pilot trialled new communication tools and approaches with the overall objective of improving organisational communication channels and resolving the challenges of communication between people with disability, their families and support workers.

Read how the "Key Workers approach delivers personalised care" on the WIC News and Events page. Sharing Places will be rolling out all communication tools tested across all teams, which is testimony to the success of the pilot.
