Belconnen Community Service – Finalist for the 2019 Chief Minister’s Inclusion Awards
Belconnen Community Service is a finalist for the Excellence in Inclusive Services and Disability Support award at the 2019 ACT Chief Minister’s Inclusion Awards!
With the introduction of the NDIS, Belconnen Community Service (BCS) has developed fresh and unique activities for people with disabilities, offering a variety of groups to meet the needs and aspirations of approximately 200 participants - all with different skill sets, mobility, interests, and levels of communication.
These groups promote opportunities for meaningful participation and active inclusion in the ACT community - paving the way to break down barriers of prejudice and discrimination.
BCS consistently asks for feedback from participants and families and responds to suggestions, ensuring there is always something new to try, to enjoy and to learn.
