Share your stories about restrictive practices

Advocacy for Inclusion is partnering with Rebus Theatre and the Office of the Senior Practitioner to develop a story sharing film project featuring people with disability who have experienced restrictive practices in disability accommodation or educational settings or the child and youth protection system.

Restrictive practices are things that limit the rights of a person using behaviours of concern. Like restricting a persons access to their own food, or their ability to move around freely.

The project aims to:
• Educate others on the impact of restrictive practices
• Support others who may think that they are alone in their experiences of restrictive practices.

The project is seeking people who have experienced restraint in following settings:
• Disability accommodation settings
• Educational settings
• Child youth protection system

It is up to participants whether they wish to be identifiable or not.
Participants who are selected will be paid $250 (slightly above the rate for a three hour call in the Media and Entertainment Arts Alliance - Performer Certified Agreement).
