That is Violence - new resources from 1800Respect

1800 Respect (the National Sexual Assault, Domestic, Family Violence Counselling Service has recently launched a new campaign: That is Violence.

This is part of their Disabilities Pathways Project and aims to increase and improve pathways and support for women with disabilities who are impacted by domestic violence and abuse.

Women with disability are affected by domestic abuse and violence at a higher rate than other women, and also wait longer before reaching out for support.

1800RESPECT is there to help with confidential telephone and online counselling. The 1800RESPECT service is available to everyone living in Australia, 24 hours a day, every day of the year. Call 1800 737 732 or visit 1800respect.org.au.

If you need help, visit the Community Services Directorate website for details of local services.

Sunny is 1800RESPECT's app for women with disability. Sunny has been co-designed for women with disability to make sure it provides the very best support for the people who use it. It can support you if you have experienced violence or abuse. Sunny can be downloaded free from the App Store or Google Play Store.

Sector professionals can learn more on our website about understanding violence against people with disability, and how to provide support. You can also register to access further resources in our Frontline Workers Toolkit.
