Support for infection prevention and control training

The Canberra Institute of Technology (CIT) is offering two courses in infection prevention and control training for community health, disability support providers, and shared accommodation providers:

Statement of Attainment - Infection Control Skill Set HLTSS00064 – Accredited Qualification (Online)

This Infection Control skill set provides the skills and knowledge required to follow organisational infection prevention and control procedures, including implementing standard and transmission-based precautions and responding to infection risks. The full online course takes 15-18 hours to complete. Once completed, you will receive a nationally accredited qualification.

Non-Accredited Training Infection Control Skills (In-person)

This training will provide individuals working in the disability sector practical training in basic infection prevention and control and the correct use of personal protective equipment (PPE).

In-person sessions are also available for alcohol and other drug, mental health and other shared accommodation settings.

The Community Services Directorate will cover the cost of the time taken for one individual from eligible organisations to complete the online Statement of Attainment Infection Control Skill Set HLTSS00064 - accredited.

Organisations are eligible for reimbursement if providing support to people with disability is their primary purpose.
