Canberra Business Chamber - Finalist for the 2019 Chief Minister's Inclusion Awards

Canberra Business Chamber is a finalist for the Inclusion in Business award at the 2019 ACT Chief Minister’s Inclusion Awards!

The Canberra Business Chamber is ACT’s peak industry body with around 550 members from 100+ different industries. The Chamber provides the only whole-of-private sector, all-industry voice to government and the community.

The ACT Inclusion Council, ACT Government and the Canberra Business Chamber partnered to develop the Inclusion in Employment Project. The project was implemented by the Canberra Business Chamber from December 2017 to October 2019 to expand employment opportunities for people with disability in Canberra's private sector.

The Inclusion in Employment project delivered eight peer to peer information sessions, with a total of over 280 businesses and organisations in attendance. 24 people with disability were employed as a direct result of the project. This business to business engagement has also contributed to collaboration and changing attitudes, indirectly creating even more jobs for Canberrans with disability.
